Elements of the Windows Desktop

When you login a windows computer system, you will get dozens of applications, so you can choose any option of you requirements.
The desktop contains many of the options have shortcut icon readily available on your computer screen.
Examples:

- Taskbar
- Notification
- Viewable toolbar

Start menu

It provides access to windows programs, documents, and information in the system.
The following list down the options that appear after clicking on the start menu.
Options | Descriptions |
All programs | All programs option displays all those programs, which are installed in your system. |
Log off | It helps a user to log off the currently logged in user of the screen. |
Sleep | It makes the system non-functional. |
Restart | Its function is to shut down and again start (log on) system. |
Shut down | It simply shut down the system. |
Settings | Settings has more options that helps to manage different settings of the computer system. |
Hibernation | It puts the open programs and documents on hard disk and than turn off your computer, It uses very low power. |
Help | It helps users to know how to do a particular task. |
Run | It helps to start an application program. |
Search | Search bar helps a user to find out any file in the system. |
My computer | My computer displays the drive of computer where user keeps his/her works, folders, files, picture, song, video, document, etc. |
Document | It displays a list of documents used by the user. |
My music | It displays a list of the music/songs. |
My picture | It displays a list of picture/images. |
Recent file | It displays the recently used file by the user. |
Printer | It displays the installed printers. |
Control Panel | It displays all the installed software (computer programs). |

- It represents an object available to your computer.

Desktop
- Desktop is workplace on the screen.

Desktop picture or Background
- It displays the colours and graphics of your computer.

Notification area
- It shows icons of various utilities. It was once called the Status stay.

Recycle bin
- Recycle bin is a trash location where deleted file and folder remain stored. when you delete any sort of files, it gets stored automatically into recycle bin. however if you deleted file from recycle bin, then it delete from system permanently.

Taskbar
- It contains related commands tools and programs currently running. It is commonly located in the lower right corner of the desktop.
