Non-impact printers print the characters don't use the ribbon. These printers do not have direct contact with the print medium falls under this category and print a complete page at a time, thus it is also called as Page Printers.

A laser printer is a non-impact page printer that uses the electro photo graphics method. The laser printers are still widely used in the large offices. It can print 50 pages per minute. These printer was developed by Xerox in the 1960.
